STEM-CELL CLONING

The cloning procedure works by combining a patient's body cell with an unfertilized egg cell from a donor. The patient's skin cell is inserted into the outer membrane of the egg cell and chemically induced to begin developing into a blastocyst. In the blastocyst, embryonic cells divide, producing a mass of stem cells.

Cloning/Embryonic Stem Cells

The term cloning is used by scientists to describe many different processes that involve making duplicates of biological material. In most cases, isolated genes or cells are duplicated for scientific study, and no new animal results. The experiment that led to the cloning of Dolly the sheep in 1997 was different: It used a cloning technique called somatic cell nuclear transfer and resulted in an animal that was a genetic twin -- although delayed in time -- of an adult sheep. This technique can also be used to produce an embryo from which cells called embryonic stem (ES) cells could be extracted to use in research into potential therapies for a wide variety of diseases.
Thus, in the past five years, much of the scientific and ethical debate about somatic cell nuclear transfer has focused on its two potential applications: 1) for reproductive purposes, i.e., to produce a child, or 2) for producing a source of ES cells for research.

Cloning for Reproductive Purposes

The technique of transferring a nucleus from a somatic cell into an egg that produced Dolly was an extension of experiments that had been ongoing for over 40 years. In the simplest terms, the technique used to produce Dolly the sheep - somatic cell nuclear transplantation cloning - involves removing the nucleus of an egg and replacing it with the diploid nucleus of a somatic cell. Unlike sexual reproduction, during which a new organism is formed when the genetic material of the egg and sperm fuse, in nuclear transplantation cloning there is a single genetic "parent." This technique also differs from previous cloning techniques because it does not involve an existing embryo. Dolly is different because she is not genetically unique; when born she was genetically identical to an existing six-year-old ewe. Although the birth of Dolly was lauded as a success, in fact, the procedure has not been perfected and it is not yet clear whether Dolly will remain healthy or whether she is already experiencing subtle problems that might lead to serious diseases. Thus, the prospect of applying this technique in humans is troubling for scientific and safety reasons in addition to a variety of ethical reasons related to our ideas about the natural ordering of family and successive generations.
Cloning, or somatic cell nuclear transfer (SCNT), is the technique used to produce Dolly the sheep, the first animal to be produced as a genetic copy of another adult.
In this procedure, the nucleus of an egg cell is removed and replaced by the nucleus of a cell from another adult. In Dolly’s case, the cell came from the mammary gland of an adult ewe. This nucleus contained that ewe’s DNA. After being inserted into the egg, the adult cell nucleus is reprogrammed by the host cell. The egg is artificially stimulated to divide and behave in a similar way to an embryo fertilised by sperm. After many divisions in culture, this single cell forms a blastocyst (an early stage embryo with about 100 cells) with almost identical DNA to the original donor who provided the adult cell – a genetic clone.

VOYAGE TO MARS*
The time frame of this mission is sometime in the not-too-distant future, when humans have established a permanent base on Mars. Crew members will serve as the first crew on Mars and the relief crew en route to the planet. While on the Martian surface, the team will have collected and analyzed a great number of planetary samples and data.
This information is vital to scientists for a better understanding of the planet Mars. Crew members also will have gained an appreciation for the "luxuries" of planet Earth such as air, water and food as compared to a barren
Our Voyage to Mars begins in the year 2076 with a new crew of astronauts en route to the Red Planet. The purpose of their voyage is to replace the existing crew who have manned Mars Control for the past two years. Control of the incoming flight has been transferred from Mission Control in Houston to Mars Control at Chryse Station. Mars Control must safely guide the Mars Transport Vehicle (MTV) into Martian orbit and to a safe landing. Before the returning crew begins its journey back to Earth, a probe will be launched to one of the Martian moons to gather data.
Voyage to Mars missions are designed for ages 13 and above and can accommodate groups of 16-30 people.
planet such as Mars.
Sending humans to Mars by the 2030s is affordable, a group of experts finds, but some key changes are needed if it is going to happen.
A workshop group of more than 60 individuals representing more than 30 government, industry, academic and other organizations has found that a NASA-led manned mission to Mars is feasible if the space agency's budget is restored to pre-sequestration levels. Putting the first humans on the Red Planet would also require international cooperation and private industry support.
There is a growing consensus among the space community that a manned mission to Mars should be a priority worth working toward in the coming years, according to Chris Carberry the executive director of Explore Mars Inc., the organization that hosted the workshop with the American Astronautical Society.

KAPANADZE GENERATOR

Kapanadze Generator (KapanGen)

Tariel Kapanadze, like Don Smith, is probably one of the most successful people who have come up with devices based on the work of Nikola Tesla. The outcome is so convincing that quite a few people, probably close to a hundred of them, could actually replicate Kapanadze’s power generator. They call it “KapanGen” or “KapaGen” in short. This page is dedicated to show videos related to KapanGen devices.
In his words, here is the reason why Tariel Kapanadze can successfully get Tesla’s design to function (emphasis added): “I discovered how to get AUTOMATIC RESONANCE between the primary and secondary windings. The most important thing is TO ACHIEVE RESONANCE.”
If you are in a hurry, please take watch this single video that shows Mr. Kapanadze’s device in a transparent box which was started simply with a single 9V battery:

In December 2009 an anonymous contributor e-mailed to say that Kapanadze returned to the ex-USSR republic of Georgia and that the video soundtrack is in the Georgian language and after the demonstration, the interview is in Russian. He has kindly translated the parts which relate to the device

The Original Kapanadze is what I would like to replicate. Although the video replica is a little schetchy it does seem real. Unlike the others, the Kapanadze is Self powered and started with only a 9V Battery

this generator is a device which draws energy from the environment. the power is drawn from a battery to get the device running wherein a part of an output power is use to drive a changer to change the the battery and when the device is running you can remove the battery and it then operates self-powered.

EPHIDRINE

Ephedrine is a medication used to prevent low blood pressure during spinal anesthesia. It has also been used for asthma, narcolepsy, and obesity but is not the preferred treatment.

What is ephedrine?

Ephedrine is used for temporary relief of shortness of breath, chest tightness, and wheezing due to bronchial asthma. Ephedrine may also be used for other conditions as determined by your doctor.
Ephedrine is a decongestant and bronchodilator. It works by reducing swelling and constricting blood vessels in the nasal passages and widening the lung airways, allowing you to breathe more easily. Ephedrine is one of the four active components of the herb Ephedra. It is able to induce fat loss via increasing the amount of fat available for fuel as well as by increasing heat expenditure. It has been implicated in increasing the metabolic rate by up to 5% in humans. It has also been noted to cause serious side-effects in some instances, and its legal status varies by region.
While dietary supplements containing ephedrine alkaloids have been used with an acceptable margin of safety and efficacy by many individuals, they can be downright dangerous for those with certain underlying medical conditions. A number of case reports have implicated ephedrine alkaloids as the cause of serious adverse health effects in isolated individuals- including but not limited to heart attack, stroke, seizures, and even death. It should also be noted that supplements ephedrine alkaloids are currently banned in the United States.
Ephedrine (ih-fed-rin) is one of the four active components of the herb Ephedra. It is able to induce fat loss via increasing the amount of fat available for fuel as well as by increasing heat expenditure. It has been implicated in increasing the Metabolic Rate by up to 5% in humans.
Ephedrine also interacts with muscle cells, increasing heat expenditure in them as well as fat cells. It can also prevent the breakdown of muscle tissue to a small degree.
Ephedrine is highly synergistic with Caffeine, and for this reason is commonly found in something called an ECA stack (Ephedrine, Caffeine, and Aspirin).
Side effects include an increase in Blood Pressure that goes away with cessation and increases in some blood parameters (Glucosamine, Insulin) that also go away with cessation of use. It has been reported to be a hyperstimulant when taken in doses above what is recommended.
Ephedrine is well studied and a fairly reliable compound for short- to medium-term weight loss (less than 6 months) and mild performance improvements, usually in trained individuals. However, it does not work under all situations; longer-term weight loss and effects in untrained individuals have not been studied much and sometimes produce negative results. While it has been implicated in weight reduction independent of exercise and diet changes, efficacy is maximized with minimal side-effects when ephedrine is combined with diet and exercise.
